An Otaku's Favorite Things
(to the tune of "My Favorite Things")

Karesansui for Zen contemplations
Sake and sencha and other libations
Maneki Neko and good luck it brings
These are a few of my favorite things

Cosplay, pachinko, and watching hanabi
Bonsai, and J-pop, haiku, origami
Watching kabuki, bunraku, noh plays
Make up an otaku's most ideal day

Wasabi on sushi, handled with hashi
Chouchin at Obon for toro-nagashi
Bathing in onsen- those are hot springs
These are a few of my favorite things

When Nihonjin
Call me gaijin
When they make me sad
I draw my katana and just start to grin
And then they don't treat me bad

Mechas, and catgirls, and ponds of nishikigoi
Oni and youkai and kaiju that destroy
Wandering samurai, geisha that sing
These are a few of my favorite things

Ramen, tempura, and rice wrapped in nori
Bento, konpeito, and cold kakigori
Dango and pocky are so good to eat
These are a few of my favorite treats

Girls in sera fuku, boys in gaku-ran
Names with add-ons like -san, -kun, -sama, or -chan
Pink-blossomed sakura, blooming in Spring
These are a few of my favorite things

When I've lost face
And my giri
Demands seppuku
Instead, I watch anime on DVD
And then I don't feel so blue
